Vintage rose nail art tutorial

Hello lovelies!!!

So many of you loved my vintage rose nails I thought it would be a good idea to do a little tutorial on how I did it.
This entire design was done using cocktail sticks.

• Apply a base coat and paint your nails a pale blue

• Using a peachy/pinky colour make rough little circles on your nails, these are the base of the flowers ( they are better if they are not perfect!)

• Using a darker pink shade make little curved lines on the edges and one in the middle of the flower base.

• Using a green polish create little leaves by placing the cocktail stick on the edge of the flower and flicking out.

• If you want to you can add white dots on the background.

•Apply a topcoat and let it dry and your done!
My Left hand

My right hand
I decided to only do the roses on two nails and the rest I did with the pale colour I used for the rose with white polka dots.

Products I used are:
•Rimmel 5 in 1 top and base coat
• Rimmel 500 peppermint
•essie a crewed interest
•MUA Amaretto Crush
• Bourjois lime catwalk 38
•17 mini skirt

I hope this made sence and happy painting!

I would love to see your recreations tweet them to me @LittleBitsOfSun

Would You Rather TAG!

Hello lovelies!!!

I have seen this tag floating around peoples blogs for AGES! and it looked quite fun so I'm joining in.

Would you rather loose all your mascaras, eyeliner, lipsticks or loose all of your palettes and eye shadows?
I would definitely prefer to lose palettes and eye shadows, mainly because I have hardly any and most of the time I got for eyeliner, mascara and lipstick, so it wouldn't be a great loss!

Would you rather chop off all your hair of or never cut it again?
Cut it all off! I know it would be horrible for a while but its pretty dead and damaged at the moment so cutting it off will do it some good!

Would you rather have a coral cheek or pink cheek?
If I'm honest I've only ever worn pink blusher so I'll stick with what I know suits me and that's pink!

If you have £1000 to spend, would you rather clothes or makeup?
Oooo Probably clothes because I always like the clothes i cant afford haha.

Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner or eyeliner as lipstick?
I don't know!! none of them haha! probably lipstick as eyeliner I really have no idea why but the thought of putting lipstick on my eyelids is more appealing than eyeliner on my lips!

Would you rather shop at mac or Sephora?
I've never shopped at any but from what I've heard Sephora has more brands (I'm probably wrong) so I would choose Sephora.

Would you rather use only 1 eye shadow colour or one lip colour for the rest of your life?
One eye shadow colour. I've really developed a love for lipstick recently and I  have dived into the world of eye shadow properly yet so definitely one eye shadow.

Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?
Definitely winter clothes in summer because if this weather is going to carry on, its what I will be wearing anyway!

Would you rather dark nail or bright nails all year round?
I always wear bright nails anyway, I don't think I've worn dark nails in a VERY long time.

Would you rather give up your favourite lip product or favourite eye product?
Favourite lip product, because without concealer, I look like the walking dead!

Would you rather to only wear you hair in a pony tail or messy bun?
When my hair eventually gets long enough definitely a messy bun! they look so nice (hurry up hair and grow!)

Would you rather to never paint your nails again or never wear lip gloss?
Never wear lip gloss! I hate the stuff anyway and without my nails painted it would drive me insane!!

Would you rather shave your eyebrows or sharpie them in everyday?
Shave them off!! I really don't like the look of drawn on eyebrows and I could always grow a fringe over them!

Would you rather live with out makeup or nail polish?
Eek I was dreading this question because I really don't know! without make up I look like a zombie and I love painting my nails! Erm.........Probably without nail polish!

Wow that took a lot longer than I thought for the main reason of I really cant spell today! thank goodness for spell check! If you have done this tag I would love to see it do leave the link in the comments!

Review: e.l.f powder brush

Hello lovelies!!!

Sorry for my recent absence! I've been having laptop troubles and I'm now awkwardly blogging from my iPod since my laptop is now dead  and a can't get a new one until the weekend :(

Anyway In my recent e.l.f (eyes lips face) haul I got their professional powder brush, I brought this brush with the hope it would be small enough to uses as a blush brush and thankfully when it arrived it was.

This brush is way to small to use as a powder brush as you can see in the picture below its tiny compared to the Real Techniques powder brush.

It is a little bit scratchy when I use it but its not unbearable, on the first use it lost a few bristles but I havent seen it lose any since, becasue this brush is quite small I find it perfect to apply my blusher although I know some people perfer bigger blush brushes I find that small brushes give me more precision.

I have washed this brush yet so I don't know how the bristles will last though a wash.

For £1.50 this brush is good especially if your like me and dont want to spend a fortune on makeup brushes when the cheap ones do the a pretty good job.

Seven deadly sins Tag!

Hello lovelies!!!

I was tagged to to this by Hannah Heartss. (You should go check her blog out if you haven't already!)

1. GREED: what is your most expensive beauty item?
I hate spending loads of money on beauty items so its going to have to be my BB cream at £12.95

2. WRATH: which beauty item do you have a love/hate relationship with?
Ooo this is a tuff one... Probably lip gloss, I love the way it looks but hate the feel of it on my lips.

3.GLUTTONY: What brand make up is the biggest chunk of your make up collection?
I don't have a lot of make up but what I do have is mostly MUA.

4.SLOTH: what products do you neglect to use due to laziness?
Body moisturiser an exfoliator, I hate the feel of moisturiser (weird I know!) and I always forget to exfoliate.

5. PRIDE: which beauty product gives you the most confidence?
Mascara, I love long full lashes and always wear it

6. LUST: Which item is at the top of your beauty list?
Foundation, I have been after one for ages but cant find one i like (any recommendations ) also a Revlon lip butter (couldn't pick as these are both at the top)

7.ENVY: What make up product/look looks great on others but not on you?
Dark eye shadow, because I wear glasses all the time it just looks really awful and unappealing.

I tag everybody to do this!

Review: Benefit They're Real! Mascara

Hello lovelies!!!

I have wanted to try Benefit They're Real! mascara since it first came out, but being very stingy with my money I was not prepared to pay £20 for a mascara.

When I heard that elle magazine were giving a free Benefit They're Real! mascara with their June's issue, I of course jumped at the chance and picked up my copy!

I have heard loads of mixed reviews about this mascara but my hopes were sky high and it did not fail me, I am in love with this stuff!!

It gives great length ans separates them perfectly, there is nothing I hate more about a mascara is one that clumps all your lashes into about 5 for each eye!
The brush is a really nice size big but not too big, I was really pleased to see that it has bristles at the end of the brush which is perfect for catching those pesky corner lashes!

It goes on really easy and lasts all day with no smudging or needing to be reapplied and it comes off fairly easy with eye make up remover (I use boots botanics review here)

Overall I really love this mascara and would definitely consider buying it once the sample has finished.

You can buy for £9.50 for a 4g bottle (this is the size that came in the £4 magazine) or a 8g bottle for £19.50.

Have you tried this mascara yet?

Review: MUA gel eye liner

Hello lovelies!!!

How have you all been lately? I don't know about you but I have been really enjoying this lovely weather we have been having (finally!).

Anyway, I have wanted a gel liner for some time now and when I saw MUA's new gel liner half price in the sale I though it was the perfect opportunity to try one.
The liner retails at £3 and comes in 4 shades - Underground (Black the one I have), Fairground (a dark grey), On Move (brown) and Tribe (Bright blue).

The way its designed in my opinion is quite clever, there is a little pot at the bottom which is where the liner is and in the lid is the brush. (I have to be honest and say it took me ages to find the brush) just above the white mark on the lid is where the brush comes out and it clips back in to make a longer handle, which is ideal as you don't need to carry and extra brush with you for on the go. The packaging is a perfect size for popping in your bag, its small enough not to get in the way but big enough to not get lost.
The brush itself is small, flat and round at the top which is good as you can get good precision with it.

The liner is a sort of a creamy consistency and goes on fairly easy, to get a full pigmented colour I go over it twice.
It last all day with only minimal fading on the wing, which is much better than some more expensive liners I have tried, it doesn't transfer to the top of my lid but the only thing I did notice is I kept getting little dry lumps appearing but I think that's because its dried on the brush because haven't yet washed it after using it everyday for almost a month (bad of me I know!)
Excuse the puffy eyes I have going on at the moment!

Overall I really like this eye liner, it has a nice consistency, the packaging is a good size and design and the brush it pretty decent too. You can buy this from Superdrug or MUA website for £3. I like it for a first gel liner but I want to try more higher end brands as well so probably wont repurchase this for the reason of wanting to try other brands.

Have you tried this before? what do you think of gel liners in general?
